Meet the team
Georgie Maguire
Founder of Postpartum with Georgie, Postpartum Doula
I’m a mother, a partner, a daughter — and a Doula.
I'm a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula through the Australian Doula College (now Womb to Tomb Foundation), based in Sydney. I’ve completed training as an accidental counsellor through Lifeline, and I hold current certifications in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and Infant Sleep & Settling. I also hold a Working with Vulnerable People card.
I became a mother during the Covid-19 pandemic — a time when the world felt like it stood still. Birth classes were cancelled, support systems disappeared overnight, and my experience as a new parent felt isolating and far from what I’d imagined. That experience lit a fire in me. It deepened my passion for nurturing new families — a calling I’d felt long before I officially became a Doula.
Even before my formal training, I took on the role of supporting friends as they transitioned into motherhood. But becoming a mother myself solidified my purpose. I knew I wanted to walk alongside others through this transformational chapter.
Postpartum is a time of immense adjustment — emotionally, physically, and mentally. It deserves just as much care and attention as pregnancy and birth, if not more. In my view, birth is just the beginning.
As a Doula, I offer family-centred care. That means dads, partners, and siblings are part of the journey too. My role is to ease the weight of early parenthood by offering practical support, evidence-based information, and gentle encouragement. I’m here to empower you to trust your instincts and feel confident in your new role.
It’s an honour to be invited into a family’s space during the such a sacred time postpartum period, I pinch myself every time that I get to call this my ‘job’.
Fleur Cantlon
Student birth & postpartum Doula
I’m a local Canberra mum, finishing off my studies to become a Doula.
I am passionate about women feeling empowered to lead and own their birth journey. I see being a Doula as an amazing opportunity to support you through what is truly an incredible time in your life. Motherhood is a bit of a leap of faith, and I think many women feel out of their depth as they step into this new phase of their lives - I know I did!
I was often confused, or overwhelmed, and allowed other people to make decisions for me, which meant that I often felt the opposite of empowered in my first days as a mum.
Learning from this experience, I want to help you learn about this amazing process, so you can make informed decisions about what happens during your pregnancy, birth and first months of motherhood. I am not a particularly spiritual or “woo woo” as a Doula, and this will be a zero judgement zone - for example, if you want an epidural, that’s totally fine! I just want to help you understand what such decisions actually mean, so you can make your own choices knowing all the information. Your birth, your way.
Fleur works alongside Georgie, offering birth support as a student Doula for Postpartum with Georgie.
